I am writing this with utter shock and sadness that our family was under attack from the enemies of our ministry.
저의 가족이 복음사역의 반대자들로부터 공격을 받아 극심한 충격과 슬픔속에 이 편지를 씁니다.
Since last two months I and my family members were receiving life threatening calls from the extremists and unknown terrorist who wanted us to stop our evangelistic activities.
지난 두달간, 저와 가족은 복음사역을 중단시키려는 극단주의자들과 테러리스트들로부터 생명을 위협하는 전화를 받고 있었습니다.
Some local Christians and muslims who were jealous of our growing ministry were also lending these terrorists groups financial support.
성장하는 사역을 질시한 주변의 크리스챤들과 무슬림들은 이 테러리스트 집단에게 재정적인 지원을 하고 있었습니다.
On the eve of 18th Feburary, 2012 around 5:00 p.m. around 15 to 20 armed men forcefully broke in and took over our ministry house [just in front of my residential house] where some widows and orphans were living.
2012년 2월 18일 오후 5시경, 약 15-20명의 무장괴한들이 과부들과 고아들이 살고
있는 미니스트리 하우스(저의 사택 바로 앞에 있는)에 난입해 난동을 부렸습니다.
Our Church security guards were beaten and assaulted. I was at home with my wife and son Arman Khan who is an attorney called the rescue police. The police arrived in 15 minutes and temporarily brought the situation under control. However, the police did not arrest these armed men and let them loose again. My family locked the doors and started praying.
교회경비원들이 폭행을 당했습니다. 저와 아내는 집에 있었고 아들 알만은 경찰을 불렀습니다. 경찰은 15분후에 도착해 현장을 장악했습니다. 하지만 경찰은 이 무장괴한들을 체포하지 않고 풀어주었습니다. 저와 가족은 문을 잠그고 기도하기 시작했습니다.
The same day after few hours around mid-night (12:45 ~ 01:25 a.m.) 19th Feburary these terrorists alongwith some local residents came with the firearms and hurled bricks and stones at my house. They started to accuse me of converting people and proselytizing. They wanted to burn our house and were inciting people to kill our family. Our neigbours who are the only muslim family in our street were the informants and main witnesses that our guest house was being used for the evangelism and gospel activities.
같은 날 몇 시간 후인 2월19일 새벽1시경에 지역주민과 함께 이 테러리스트들이 총을 가지고 찾아와서 벽돌과 돌을 저의 집에 던졌습니다. 그들은 사람들을 개종시켰다는 죄목으로 나를 고소하기 시작했습니다. 그들은 집에 불을 지르려 하였고 우리 가족을 죽이도록 사람들을 선동하고 있었습니다. 우리 지역의 유일한 무슬림 가족인 이웃사람들이 우리의 게스트하우스가 복음사역을 위해 사용되고 있다는 정보를 제공한 자들이었습니다.
In this whole incident the local police who had taken bribes from these extremists groups were actively supporting them. The local police even arrested my driver/helper Mr. Pervaiz Masih, Mr. Nazish Nadeem and Church security guards [Mr. Rafiq Masih and Mr. Shahzad].
이 사건이 진행되는 동안 이 극단주의자 집단들로부터 뇌물을 받은 지역경찰은 적극적으로 그들을 돕고 있었습니다. 심지어 저의 운전사이자 동역자인 퍼바이즈와 마시, 나지시 나딤과 교회경비원인 라피크 마시와 샤흐자드를 체포해갔습니다.
They wanted to illegally posses our pastor/guest house but our Church security guards bravely resisted them. Then these extremists opened fire at our Pastor house. Mr. Sajid Masih was shot at the ribs and Mr. Boota was severly beaten and thrown from the 20 feet roof. My son Arman called the elite force but they responded very slowly.
그들은 불법적으로 우리의 게스트하우스를 빼았으려고 했지만 교회경비원들은 용감하게 저항했습니다. 그러자 이 극단주의자들은 목사사택에 총을 쐈고 사히드 마시가 갈비뼈에 총을 맞았으며 부타는 심하게 폭행을 당하고 6미터 높이의 지붕에서 던져졌습니다. 제 아들 알만은 군대에 연락했으나 그들은 매우 늦게 응답했습니다.
Mr. Sajid and Mr. Boota were immediately rushed to the emergency hospital in the ambulance where doctors operated for more than four hours to take out the bullet from Mr. Sajid's ribs. Still, Mr. Sajid is in critical condition and doctors have told that his arm may have to be amputated in order to save his life. The x-ray reports have shown that the bullet is stuck in one of his ribs.
사히드와 부타는 즉시 구급차로 병원 응급실로 보내졌고 4시간 이상의 수술을 통해 사히드에게서 총알을 제거했습니다. 사히드는 위중한 상태이며 의사는 생명을 건지기 위해 팔을 절단해야 할 수도 있다고 말했습니다. 엑스레이상에 총알은 그의 갈비뼈 중 하나에 박혀있었습니다.
So far, this extremist group has the political and financial support. The local police instead of arresting these criminals has filed a wrongful case in which they have named me the prime suspect, my accused my son of being the terrorist and falsely accused more than 20 believers of our congregation and family members.
이 극단주의자 집단은 정치적, 재정적 지원을 받고 있습니다. 지역경찰은 이 범죄자들을 체포하는 대신 유력한 용의자로 나를 거명하고, 내 아들을 테러리스트로 기소하고, 20명이상의 성도들을 기소하는 등 부당하게 사건기록을 조작하고 있습니다.
We tried to approach the city police and they have demanded more than 200,000 PKR in bribes for the sake of security. This tragic event has taken us by surprise and we feel hopeless at the hands of law and local police. We are trying to contact media but the opposite group has more resources and has already brainwashed the media.
우리는 시 경찰과 접촉하려고 했고 그들은 보안을 위해 뇌물로 200,000 PKR(한화 약 3,000,000원) 이상을 요구했습니다. 이 비극적인 사건은 우리를 놀라게 했고 우리는 법과 지역경찰의 손아귀에서 무기력함을 느낍니다. 우리는 언론에 접촉하려고 하지만 반대자들은 더 많은 자원을 가지고 이미 언론을 세뇌시켰습니다.
Please keep my family and congregation in prayers in this hour of horrific terror and unrest.
