Position: Part-Time Youth Director
Job Title: Minister for Youth
Position Purpose:
KPCCW is seeking for a dedicated and faith-filled Youth Director to minister to the needs of our youth, and leading them to spiritual commitments, disciplines, and discipleship that will result in spiritual maturity. The position is salaried based on 20 to 25 hours per week.
Position Responsibilities:
· Plan, organize, lead, and execute the established youth ministry programs (e.g., Wednesday evening youth activities, Sunday worship service/sermon, Sunday school program, Bible study etc.) implementing fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, evangelism, and ministry and mission opportunities while working closely with the youth, parents, and youth leaders.
· Enlist, train and shepherd adult youth leaders with diverse gifts and personalities.
· Provide counseling and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis.
· Maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of on-going activities.
· Train and involve youth and youth leaders in an outreach program to reach un-churched youth.
Position Qualifications:
· Possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field (masters preferred but not required), and at least two years of equivalent experience in youth ministry.
· Be able to speak and communicate fluently in English (an ability to communicate in Korean is not required but would be a plus).
· Have a sense of call and passion for ministry with youth that is grounded in a solid understanding, foundation, and appreciation of the Presbyterian theology (or a willingness to learn).
· Have an ability to work harmoniously and enthusiastically with children, youth, youth leaders, parents, and the Church Session and to model Christ in all walks of life.
· Have an ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-generational environment and foster a spirit of unity throughout the entire congregation.
· Have an ability to promote teamwork and foster leadership in youth and youth leaders.
Compensations and Benefits:
· Final offer of employment is subject to successful completion of background check.
· Salary is commensurate with education, experience, qualifications, leadership experience and interpersonal skills.
· Necessary and reasonable relocation expenses may be provided.
